All employees remain on board: Condor concludes comprehensive agreements with all social partners

AIR NEWS

Condor has reached comprehensive agreements with all social partners to avoid compulsory redundancies. Together with the works councils for ground and flying staff as well as the trade unions UFO, Ver.di and the Vereinigung Cockpit, agreements have been signed which will allow all employees to remain on board.

“We take our responsibility towards our employees very seriously. Not only our customers have planning security thanks to our flight plan stability, but now also our staff: Thanks to sustainable and responsible agreements with all social partners, everyone stays on board,” says Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor.

Condor employs almost 4,200 people on the ground and in the air. Among other measures, the company has reached agreements with all trade unions and works councils to extend short-time working, which will continue until at least March 2021 in accordance with the currently applicable statutory maximum duration. The collective bargaining agreements also include agreements on efficiency and productivity improvements in flight scheduling.

“We have a responsibility not only towards our employees, our customers and our partners, but also to the German Federal Government and the State Government of Hesse, which have granted us a loan of 294 million euros as corona aid. In recent months, we have shown that we are fulfilling the trust placed in us, and are now implementing a large number of cost-cutting and liquidity measures while maintaining the same high quality of products and services for our customers. In addition to the trade union agreements, these include, among other things, the move to a smaller and more cost-effective company headquarter,” says Ralf Teckentrup.
